我遭遇的情況實在是一堆問題都湊在一起了：

1. 日文輸入
   • MS-IME 有時候會壞掉，切換日文的按鈕會不見。
2. 101/104 鍵的非日文鍵盤
   • 要切換日文得用 alt-` 或用滑鼠點。有時候兩個都會失靈。
3. 在 FFXI 裡輸入日文
   • 加強了切換日文失敗的可能性
4. Dvorak 的鍵盤排列方式
   • 一般作法會導致 alt-` 無法使用
5. XP x64
   • 很多解法不相容於 x64 版

一般要使用 Dvorak 鍵盤排列輸入日文最簡單的解法是用 regedit 把 MS-IME 的 keyboard layout dll 從 kbdjpn.dll 換成 kbddv.dll。這個作法有一個缺點，就是一些像 alt-` 之類的特殊功能鍵會不能用。

Alt-` 不能用的話切換日文就只好用滑鼠點，可是 MS-IME 三不五時就會失靈，按鈕會不見沒得點。尤其在玩 FFXI 的時候更是常發生這種事。而且，FFXI 有時候會吃掉滑鼠 click，導致沒切到日文或是遊戲角色亂跑。Zcecil 推薦可以使用 ATOK，比較不會發生按鈕消失無法切換的事，可是角色亂跑還是很討厭。

另外一個解法是安裝窓使いの憂鬱從 driver 那邊改 layout。可是窓使いの憂鬱已經停止發展了，而且沒有 x64 版，所以我還是不能用。

於是我最近決定直接來 hack kbdjpn.dll 和 kbd101.dll，把鍵盤 layout 那一段用 kbddv.dll 裡面那一段蓋過去。幸運的是這幾個檔鍵盤 layout 那段的資料大小是一樣的，所以直接用 hex editor 就可以了。改完之後現在我在 FFXI 裡切日文也可以直接用 alt-` 來切，就方便多了。

要注意的是 XP x64 裡面有兩份 kbdjpn.dll 和 kbd101.dll，分別在 system32 和 SysWOW64 裡。我之前用 HxD 改的時候因為 HxD 有一個 bug 所以 system32 下的一直沒改到。後來改到之後現在日文輸入用得很高興。另外一點要注意的地方是，如果用的是日文 106/109 鍵鍵盤或是 NEC 鍵盤而不是 101/104 鍵鍵盤的話，可能需要改 kbd106.dll 或 kbdnec.dll 而不是 kbd101.dll。

如果有人還不知道的話，我現在有在玩 FFXI。我用的名字是 Loeyuue (自動產生的名字)，是在 Ragnarok world、Windurst 聯邦籍的男生 Tarutaru。

平常我沒有在記錄些什麼在 Vana’diel 發生的事，不過這件事實在是太曲折了，值得記錄一下。

話說，Mission 是 FFXI 裡面各國的主線劇情。Mission 2-3 是第一次到另外兩國出的任務 (出差是也)。Windurst Mission 2-3 的前半我已經過了好久了，可是後半的 Dark Dragon 拖了很久，一直沒機會打。這星期天我們的 LS 才出了一團，可是沒有跟到。不過，LS 裡有一個原本是 Bastok rank 10 的人，叫 Coragane，剛剛轉國 到 Windurst，所以很快要重打一次 Mission 2-3 的 Dark Dragon，再加上 LS 裡也有幾個人需要打 Dark Dragon 的人，於是就決定星期一晚上再出一團。

星期一傍晚，除了我和 Coragane 在 Bastok 等之外，另外兩個成員先去過 San d’Oria Mission 2-3 的前半。結果，其中一個人忽然接到電話說爸爸送醫院，所以不能一起去打了。此為障礙一。

過了一會兒，另一位成員 (好像叫 Wolfwhitaker) 也到 Bastok 了，結果到了領事館才發現他的 Mission 2-3 前半只解到一半，沒辦法接後半的任務。此為障礙二。

於是乎，我們決定由 Coragane 送他回 Giddeus 解完 Mission 2-3 前半再一起去打 Dark Dragon。

終於，三人再次集合在 Bastok 之後，大家騎 Chocobo 去 Palborough Mines。我因為要用到 Sleep，所以換成了只有 24 級的 BLM，路上有可能會被 Aggro。就在快要到 Waughroon Shrine 的時候，我因為誤解了 Coragane 的意思，用了 Warp，於是我又回到 Bastok 了，只好自己再跑一次。此為障礙三。

跑到 Palborough Mines 搭電梯上三樓之後，結果我又在快要到 Waughroon Shrine 之前被 Quadav Aggro，趴在地上了。此為障礙四。

於是，Coragane 只好開了他朋友的角色來幫我 raise。就在要進 BC 之前，Coragane 忽然意識到自己還沒接到 Mission 2-3，只好他自己再跑一趟回 Bastok 接任務。此為障礙五。

至此，已經不知道過了幾個小時了，Dark Dragon 連見都還沒見到一眼。我說，這 Dark Dragon 一定是有什麼詛咒在。實際打起來的時候倒是還好，Coragane 用 MNK/WAR、Wolfwhitaker 用 WAR/THF、我用 BLM/WHM，一次就解決了，沒有人陣亡。

之前去 Sears 修輪胎的時候順便在 Market Place Mall 逛了一下，發現還滿多地方有賣蠟燭的。我說的不是那種普通用來照明的蠟燭，是那種裡面有香料的蠟燭。不但各家百貨公司多少都有在賣，有的 (如 Yankee Candle) 還有專賣店。不過，我覺得真的好聞的蠟燭倒是沒有那麼多。甚至有很多還是食物的味道，聞起來實在是有夠甜膩的。

逛來逛去，後來還是在 Sears 看到一個系列的蠟燭真很不錯，很多味道聞起來都很讚。雖然好像反而是沒有品牌的蠟燭，可是是 Crafted in the USA 的。其中有一款是 Verbena & Thyme: crisp verbena and thyme highlighted by citrus and green grass，聞起來實在是過分，完全有一種自己就躺在草地上的感覺，就趁著特價買了一根回家了。

Professor Sylvian Ray 是我們系上一位老教授。早念參與過 ILLIAC III 的計畫。後來研究 Neural Networks 和 Brain Theory。退休之後都還在系上教學和研究。我修過他的 Neural Networks 和
Artificial Neural Networks and Computational Brain Theory (ANNCBT) Seminar。

他在去年十二月的時候過世了。詳見 CS Professor Emeritus Sylvian Ray Remembered。三月廿九日的時候系上會有一場 Memorial Service。

Blu-ray is winning, and HD DVD is dying. Not only did Warner Bros (followed by New Line Cinema and HBO) announce in the 2008 CES that they will release their HD titles exclusively in Blu-ray, sources say that both Universal Studios and Paramount Pictures are likely to follow. There is an escape clause in Paramount’s contract with HD DVD saying that they can switch if Warner switches to Blu-ray. Universal’s HD DVD exclusive contract also expires in January and is not renewed.
